The Armed Forces of Ukraine use Starlink antennas to maintain communication in the conditions of the destroyed communication system of Ukraine. The Ukrainian army has no alternative methods of connecting yet. At the moment, about 22.000 Starlinks operate in Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian minister of digital transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine and Space Exploration Technologies Corp have agreed on a new shipment of 10.000 Starlinks to continue Ukrainian resistance to Russian aggression. We remind you that today Starlink is included in the group of strategic goods, therefore it is not subject to duties and VAT. Generators are included in the same group of goods because Starlink works on them.
"SpaceX and Musk are quick to respond to issues and help us. Musk assured us that he would continue to support Ukraine. When we had a massive blackout, I texted him that day, and he responded immediately and has already taken a few steps. He understands the situation," said Mykhailo Fedorov and added that he spoke directly with Elon.
According to the minister, all financial issues have already been resolved: the EU states have agreed to share the payment for Starlink for Ukraine.
Ukraine is 1 of the strongest global IT hubs. Revenue from the export of software products ranks second in the ranking of all business sectors in the country. Today, Ukraine is ready for even the worst scenario, in which, due to Russian shelling, the country will be left without water and electricity for days or even weeks. Therefore, the stabilization element in the form of Starlink helps not only win the war, but also continue to develop the Ukrainian economy.
