Ukraine Returned From Russian Captivity 1.596 POWs

The last prisoner exchange took place on 31 December. 140 Ukrainians returned home

The end of 2022 was marked by 2 events: the Russian terrorist attack against Ukraine and the exchange of prisoners of war. The last exchange of the year, but not the final for the duration of the war. Ukraine managed to return home 140 people: 132 men and 8 women. Each of them defended Mariupol, Serpent's island, 15 volunteers of the territorial defence of the town of Slavutych (2 of them — father and son), officers of the Naval Forces and the state border service of Ukraine. Of these, 22 officers and 118 sergeants and soldiers.

In total, on February 24, Ukraine returned home 1.596 people — Ukrainians and foreigners. Of these, 132 are civilians.
