The UN Allocates $123 Mln for Ukrainian Refugees and IDP

The UN high commissioner announced the decision to support Ukrainians, who suffer from the Russian war

According to the official report of the Office of the high commissioner, Ukraine will receive $123 million in the autumn 2023-end of winter 2024. The funds are intended for internally displaced persons and other citizens of Ukraine who suffered during the war of the Russian Federation. Around 900.000 people will receive social payments from the UN. Financial payments can be obtained to rent housing, cover the costs of electricity/heating, etc. Within this amount, the UN is going to help Ukrainians buy heaters, electricity generators non-food products.

Due to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 2 million families lost apartments and houses. Ukrainians who survived receive support from the state: free places in temporary towns for internally displaced persons, financial compensation and recently the state-issued certificates for housing. However, more and more families suffer from the shellings and bombardment of Russia daily, so UN support is critical.
