“Wikipedia” Starts Project Dedicated to Ukrainian Culture

From 15 to 30 April, people are asked to fill in an internet encyclopedia about the cultural property that disappeared as a result of the war

The project Cultural heritage of Ukraine appeared on the Wikipedia website. It is dedicated to the cultural heritage that has disappeared or is under threat because of a full-scale invasion by the armed forces of the Russian Federation. The project will last 15 days: from 15 to 30 April. The idea of its emergence goes to the international celebration of the day of attractions. On this day, Ukraine can only remember some cultural objects and tell about them, but not visit them. After all, the "Russian world" has killed almost all historical monuments, buildings, and other objects in the occupied and liberated territories. For example, the Mariupol drama theatre opened in 1878. On 16 March 2022, the Russian invaders destroyed it together with the people left behind by the shelling. Or destroyed by Russian rockets, sports complex Locomotive in Kharkiv, stadium Champion in Irpin, and other cases.

Therefore, people are given the opportunity to remind the world of important places in Ukraine and culture, as well as to record the number of crimes by the Kremlin against Ukrainian culture. The list can include both destroyed and disappeared attractions, and objects that are at risk. Wikipedia notes that these are not only buildings and sculptures but also places where history was created. All information must have official confirmation.

Every Ukrainian carries a cultural heritage, and now there is a chance to save him from the hands of the Russian troops forever.
