Anniversary of the De-Occupation of Bucha

On 31 March Ukraine honours the memory of those who were killed and suffered because due to the Russian occupation of Bucha

From February 25, 2022, Bucha, Kyiv region, was in the power of the armed forces of the Russian Federation. This is one of the first places where the army of a neighbouring country allowed itself atrocities and abuses of people.

In 33 days of occupation, Russia killed more than 1.400 civilians in Ukraine in just 1 town. Examination established that 37 bodies belonged to children. More than 175 people were found in mass graves and torture chambers. Also during the investigative actions were documented 9.000 war crimes that the Kremlin allowed to create in Bucha.

Therefore, today, on the day of the liberation of Bucha, victims are honoured in Kyiv and an international conference Bucha – Russia's responsibility for crimes in Ukraine is held. In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy with world leaders: president of Moldova Maia Sandu, prime minister of Slovakia Eduard Heger, Slovenian prime minister Robert Golob and Croatian prime minister Andrei Lenovic arrived at the ceremony of reading the memory of the dead near the church of saint apostle Andrew the first named and all the saints in Bucha.

365 days have passed since Bucha is again a free Ukrainian town. A symbol of the atrocities of the army of the occupier's country. We will never forgive.

Following Irpin on 31 March 2022, the defenders of Ukraine liberated the town. Next, the Ukrainian army liberated Gostomel and on 2 April the occupiers were completely expelled from the territory of the Kyiv region.

We will punish all those responsibly.
