Emmy award winners were announced in New York for their work on news projects and documentary television programs dedicated to the war. This year, 6 projects with the participation of Ukrainians were awarded by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Among them:
- NBC News Special Project;
The documentary Ukraine: A Mother's War tells real stories of Ukrainian women. The project highlights the lives of 5 women who survived the occupation and the loss of bullying by the Russian army.
- CBS – transmission 60 minutes;
Jurie celebrated the graduation with the head of the Ukrainian state, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
- CBS – Lost Souls of Bucha;
The project tells about the crimes of the Russian army in Bucha in 2022. Lost Souls of Bucha received an award for best screenplay. It is noted that the Ukrainian Sonia Kochmar-Tymoshenko became the field producer.
- The New York Times – investigation of crimes in Bucha;
The project reveals details of the arbitrariness and crimes of the Russian unit against raw citizens in Bucha, Kyiv region. The investigation won the Emmy award for Best Editing.
- Sky News – Battle for Bucha and Irpin;
Ukrainian journalist Azad Safarov collaborated with a famous news messenger. He acted as a producer in the program Battle for Bucha and Irpin, for which he received an Emmy award.
- SNN – Outstanding Live Breaking News Coverage.
The Emmy also honoured SNN for its coverage of breaking news. The team also included a journalist and photographer from Ukraine, Yulia Kochetova.
