On November 24, the Kyiv city administration recognized Boris Johnson as an Honorary citizen of the capital for his courage, love for Ukraine and for uniting the world community in the key of helping the Ukrainian opposition to Russian aggression.
"Boris has repeatedly visited the Ukrainian capital — both in peace and in the most dramatic time of our struggle against the Russian aggressor. Johnson has done and, I am sure, will continue to do everything possible to ensure that Great Britain and world leaders provide the necessary assistance to Ukraine," the mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko.
Kievans and residents of other cities enthusiastically accepted and supported this news. As soon as Sir Johnson arrives in Ukraine, the mayor, on behalf of all Ukrainians, will be able to thank the friend of Ukraine and present him with an award.
We remind you that Boris Johnson also has a nameplate on the Walk of the Brave in Kyiv, a portrait painted by one of the most famous Ukrainian artists, his own Ukrainian name (awarded by Ukrainians) — Boris Johnsonuk and even a cake, named after Johnson's Ukrainian name.
