Ukrainian Endangered Animals — New Hollywood Stars of the “Walk of Fame”

In Hollywood temporarily placed the stars with animals that are on the verge of extinction due to a full-scale Russian invasion

Ukrainian activists UAnimals, who fight for the humane treatment of animals, organised an action in Hollywood. Animal protectors have been placed on the Walk of Fame stars with images of animals that are on the verge of extinction due to the actions of the Kremlin in Ukraine. In a year of the war, 5 species are threatened with extinction:

  • Barn owl;
  • Steppe eagle;
  • Brown bear;
  • Eurasian lynx
  • Black stork.

Information about the affected species was placed next to the stars of known celebrities – for example, Tom Cruise, Frank Sinatra, Arnold Schwarzenegger etc.

The stars with animals are temporarily located in the alley. However, activists call for attention to the suffering of animals and call for the Russian Federation to be held accountable as well as for punishment for the killing of people in Ukraine.

"Russia commits ecocide and eco-terrorism in Ukraine, purposefully destroying all living things. As a result of rocket attacks, explosions, mines, and other barbaric actions of Russians, animals, both wild and domestic, die en masse. In connection with the ecocide, additional sanctions should be imposed against the Russian Federation. The terrorist country should answer for the violation of ecological security in Ukraine and join the restoration of the Ukrainian ecosystem after the war by paying reparations," said the founder of UAnimals Todorchuk.

During the year of the war, the situation with animals in Ukraine became terrible. The occupiers shot animals, burned whole stables, and shelled nature reserves. In areas where there is no active fighting, the capacity of shelters and veterinary clinics is +100%.
